Spicy or Mild? Duluth Officials to Compete in Chili Cook-off

Members of the Duluth City Council will try to outdo each other with their versions of mild, spicy, traditional, and cutting-edge chili at their third annual cook-off Thursday, Aug. 15, on the Duluth Town Green. Admission is free.

The homemade chili will be ready, and the lines for tasting samples will start forming at 6 p.m. After tasting the different kinds of chili, attendees will cast votes for their favorite.

Councilman Billy Jones has won the past two Duluth City Council Chili Cook-offs.

Other chili will be available to purchase by the bowl with proceeds to benefit Hands of Christ – A Duluth Cooperative Ministry. The ministry operates a food pantry and resale store.

Country music artist Alex Hall will entertain on the Duluth Festival Center Amphitheater stage during the tasting event.
