Barnes & Noble Bookfair Benefits Rainbow Village

Part of the sales proceeds from the Bookfair Dec 7-9 will be donated to Rainbow Village in Duluth.

Need to purchase books or literary acessories for individuals on your Christmas gift list? Rainbow Village in Duluth will host its annual Bookfair Dec. 7-9 at Barnes & Noble stores in The Forum in Peachtree Corners or the Mall of Georgia in Buford. A portion of sales proceeds will benefit Rainbow Village. Print and take one of the Bookfair flyers attached to this article. There is a different flyer for each location. Gala Helps Rainbow Village Families

Annual Faith, Hope & Love Gala supports Duluth-based Rainbow Village, a transitional housing program for homeless families.

By Sandra Cathy Rainbow Village’s Faith Hope & Love Gala at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Duluth attracted an attendance of 320 and raised $160,000 for Rainbow Village families. Wilmington Trust was the presenting sponsor for the gala. Retired Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Reeves served as master of ceremonies. His entertaining personality added fun to an evening filled with special moments. The gala is the largest fundraiser of the year for Rainbow Village. The annual event draws friends, volunteers and investors together to enjoy an evening of stories of promise and hope for the future for Rainbow Village families. Old Peachtree Road 5K Benefits Rainbow Village

Race starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Suwanee.

SOMA is presenting PCOM's fifth annual Old Peachtree Road 5K benefitting Rainbow Village in Duluth Saturday, Aug. 25. The race starts at 9 a,m. at the Georgia Campus of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine at 625 Old Peachtree Road in Suwanee. This is an official timed race with prizes for race winners in each category Each runner receives a free race T-shirt and gift bag. Ribbon Cut for New Rainbow Village Campus

Duluth campus will bring Rainbow Village families in Duluth and Norcross together.

Ten homeless families with children from Duluth and Norcross will be moving into Rainbow Village’s new campus soon following a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a Family Service Center and two six-unit apartment buildings Friday (April 20). The new facilities are part of a $6-million project being built in three phases. Rainbow Village is a transitional housing community. Most of the residents are women fleeing lives of domestic violence and poverty with their children. Besides a place to live, Rainbow Village’s one- to two-year program offers support services that help the families become self-sufficient. A Bright Night for Rainbow Village

Rainbow Village, a Duluth-based transitional housing program that provides support services to homeless families with children, presented with D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award.

  The Rev. Nancy Yancey, CEO of Duluth-based Rainbow Village, accepted the D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award before a sold out crowd of 1,000 business and community leaders at the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce’s 64th annual dinner Feb. 3 at Gwinnett Center in Duluth. The award is named for the late Scott Hudgens, a respected Gwinnett County developer and philanthropist. Girl Scout Troop 4486 Collecting Items for Charities

Items for Rainbow Village, Ronald McDonald House, Children's Healthcare, and Paws Atlanta may be dropped off at Cardinal Lake Civic Association Clubhouse this weekend.

Duluth Girl Scout Troop 4486 is collecting items to help local charities Jan. 27-29 at the Cardinal Lake Civic Association Clubhouse. The “charity needs drive” will benefit families and animals at Rainbow Village, Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Paws Atlanta, and the Ronald McDonald House. Here are suggestions for donations. Chamber to Honor Rainbow Village at Annual Dinner

  Rainbow Village has been selected to receive the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce’s D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award to be presented at the chamber’s 64th Annual Dinner Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. “Rainbow Village will be recognized before a crowd of over 1,000 community leaders for embodying the spirit of compassion and generosity to which Hudgens was so deeply committed,” according to an announcement in Rainbow Village’s newsletter.
