Each of six winners won $10,000, lottery officials said.
Georgia Lottery announced that a winning Decades of Dollars ticket was recently purchased in Duluth. There were six total winners in the May 13 drawing, and each person will receive $10,000, said lottery officials Tuesday. The winning Duluth ticket was sold at Stop N Save Food Mart, located at 4601 Satellite Boulevard. The other winnings tickets were bought in Tallapoosa, Kennesaw, Atlanta and Summerville. The winning numbers were: 6 16 27 38 44 47. The overall odds of winning $10,000 in the game are 1 in 43,649. The game offers a top prize of $250,000 a year for 30 years and a $10,000 second prize. Drawings are held at 11 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays. Tickets cost $2 per play.

If you bought your Powerball ticket in Georgia, you did not win last night's $588 million jackpot. Two winning tickets were sold in the Nov. 28 Powerball lottery according to the Georgia Lottery website. The tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri. The winning numbers were 5-16-22-23-29 with a Powerball of 6. However, the luck was not all bad for Georgia Powerball players. A $1 million winning ticket was sold in Georgia, and numerous $10,000 prize tickets were sold. The lucky player won $1 million by matching all five white balls. The Georgia Lottery Board of Directors voted Thursday (July 19) to begin a plan to allow players to buy tickets for jackpot games online, according to media reports. MegaMillions, PowerBall and Fantasy 5 will be the initial offerings, according to lottery President Margaret DeFrancisco. -- Will online sales affect your lottery purchases? An Alpharetta daycare worker stumbled upon prize money from the Georgia Lottery during an afternoon walk in Alpharetta. Patsy Wehby of Duluth won a $400,000 prize playing the instant game 20X The Money, lottery officials reported. Wehby, 56, claimed her prize recently at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Duluth. The mother of three was out for a walk when she stepped into the Kroger at Hwy. 9 and Windward Parkway, where she purchased her lucky ticket, according to lottery officials. “I was looking crazy,” she said. “I was crying. The Mega Millions jackpot has reached a record of more than $500 million after no one matched the winning numbers in Tuesday night's drawing. The Friday night jackpot is estimated at $540 million. The March 27 jackpot was $363 million, but no players matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball to take home the prize. A total of 47 players matched five winning numbers to net a $250,000 payout. None of the winning quarter-million dollar tickets were sold in Georgia. Nationally, 245 players won $10,000 by matching four white balls and the Mega Ball.
