Gwinnett Fire, Emergency Services Ready for Winter

The department's poised to respond to weather-related incidents and provided safety tips for residents.

Due to the potential for wintry weather and hazardous road conditions, the Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services Department will place an extra engine and medic unit in-service overnight Thursday to assist with any weather-related incidents. Weather forecasters are predicting a chance for winter weather that may bring snow and black ice to the metro Atlanta area including Gwinnett County.  Fire officials are working closely with emergency management and police to monitor weather and road conditions, as well as incident responses, according to a media release issued by the department.
