Duluth Companies Part of Home Show

North Atlanta Home Show runs Friday-Sunday, Feb. 15-17, at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth.

More than 150 experts in home remodeling and landscaping will showcase their services and products at the 2013 North Atlanta Home Show Friday-Sunday, Feb. 15-17, at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth. The show includes new product introductions, seminars, demonstrations, and live radio broadcasts. Several Duluth companies are participating in the show, including Costco Wholesale, Georgia Solar Lighting by the Sunshine Boys, Innovative Outdoors LLC, Lux Lighting Ltd., Pella Window & Door Company, and the Trusted Toolbox. “The North Atlanta Home Show offers homeowners and future homeowners an ideal environment to see new products, talk to the experts and comparison shop all under one roof,” said Michael Schoppenhorst, director of the show, in a …

'Georgia Gardener' Brings Show and Fun to Suwanee

Reeves does remote radio broadcast from Pike Nurseries.

It was early Saturday in Suwanee, and Walter Reeves was discussing naked women. He asked his in-store audience at Pike Nurseries which record albums were known for having naked women on their album jackets. Some people quickly correctly replied "Tijuana Brass" (the woman in the cake) and "Blind Faith" (the girl holding a silver spaceship). Then the questioning moved to beer. Which brand of beer first featured the pop-top? Schlitz, someone correctly answered. Eventually, the "Georgia Gardener's" remote WSB broadcast moved back on the air, and back to lawn and garden matters, the core subject.
