Open your pantry and gather up spare cans of tuna, fruits and vegetables, boxes of cereal, macaroni & cheese dinners, jars of peanut butter, and fruit juice. Put the food items in a bag and place it near your mailbox for your letter carrier to pick up Saturday, May 12. This is the day the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) will conduct its 20th annual nationwide “Stamp Out Hunger!” Food Drive. The Main Duluth Post Office at 3470 McClure Bridge Road will be the site of a U.S. Postal Service “Grow Your Business” Day where small businesses, home offices and other entrepreneurs can find out how to save money on postage and use the mail to increase revenue Friday, March 23. The session will begin at 1 p.m. Atlanta USPS representatives will provide information on the new postage rates and ways the new rate structure provides opportunities to reduce mailing costs. They will also show customers how to use Every Door Direct Mail®, an online low-cost service that allows customers to send messages directly to delivery routes without a mailing permit. The Duluth Grow Your Business Day is free and open to the public.
