Nash, Brooks and Hunter to Be Sworn in Sunday

Group swearing-in ceremony will take place at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center.

Gwinnett Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash, District 1 Commissioner Jace Brooks and District 3 Commissioner-elect Tommy Hunter, will be sworn in Sunday, Dec. 30 at the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center.  Nash, who has served 18 months as chairman since winning a special election in March of 2011, was unopposed in both the Primary and General Election and will begin a full four-year term in January. Brooks, a former Suwanee City Coucil member, took office in September after he was the sole candidate to qualify for a special election to fill the District 1 vacancy created by the resignation of Shirley Lasseter. After Recount, Hunter Still Wins

The recount requested by current Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau yielded the same results as the runoff for the District 3 post.

On Monday afternoon, current Gwinnett County Commissioner Mike Beaudreau requested a recount after falling behind following a runoff. He trailed opponent Tommy Hunter in the race for the District 3 seat in a runoff on Aug. 21st by 57 votes. The recount was completed Tuesday evening at about 6:15 p.m., and the outcome stands. Hunter has defeated Beaudreau by just 56 votes. Both are Republicans. Here are the numbers: Hunter will take office in January.
