Duluth residents who want to pay tribute to Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King have choices of celebrations in nearby Norcross, Lawrenceville and Snellville.
Duluth residents planning to celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day have opportunities to participate in parades and programs in nearby Norcross, Lawrenceville and Snellville. The United Ebony Society (UES) of Gwinnett County Inc. will sponsor its 13th annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration Sunday, Jan. 20, and Monday, Jan. 21. This year’s activities follow a theme of “Character and Service,” a call to answer the passionate words of Dr. King: “Life's most persistent and urgent question is…What are you doing for others?” Snellville’s second annual Martin Luther King Jr. Parade is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 21.
