Obituary: Michael Scott Hudgens

Visitation scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home.

Michael Scott Hudgens, 64, of Duluth, a philanthropist and son of the late Gwinnett developer Scott Hudgens Jr., passed away Feb. 6. The family will receive friends Friday, Feb. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crowell Brothers Peachtree Chapel Funeral Home, 5051 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Norcross/Peachtree Corners. Mr. Hudgens attended the University of Georgia and was a retired U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed his family, being with friends and working on the family farm, where he spent most of his time. An avid NASCAR fan, he also enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake. Mr. Hudgens was preceded in death by his father; his brother, Mark R. Hudgens; and sister, Marcia Duggan. Reception, Funeral Service Set for Bill Todd

The co-founder, co-chairman and co-executive director of Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth passed away unexpectedly Tuesday. A reception and funeral service are scheduled at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta Saturday.

William (Bill) N. Todd Sr., co-founder, co-chairman and co-executive director of Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, will be remembered at a reception at Peachtree Christian Church in Atlanta from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26. Todd passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 22. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church located at 1580 Peachtree St. NW. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, 1680 Westview Drive SW, in Atlanta. Todd was born in Sandersville, GA. After his graduation from Emory University in 1952, where he was a member of the Emory Glee Club and the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, he served a two-year tour of duty in the U.S. Army. Donald "Scott" Wills

  The family of the late Donald Scott Wills of Duluth will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Bill Head Funeral Home Chapel in Duluth. Wills, 51, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Georgia Tech, died peacefully at home Friday, Dec. 2. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 5, and also on Tuesday, Dec. 6. The Monday service will occur at 3 p.m. at Duluth First United Methodist, 3208 Duluth Hwy. 120. Tuesday’s service will be a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. at the Catholic Church of Saint Monica, 1700 Buford Hwy. The family will receive guests after the Mass in the church hall. Funeral services for Rita Denise Jones Westbrook, 56, a beloved member of the Duluth community, are scheduled for 11 a.m., Saturday, June 25, at Duluth First United Methodist Church followed by a graveside service at the Duluth Church Cemetery. Officiating at her services will be Dr. Tommy Green, Rev. C. Kay Fuino, and Mrs. Kathryn Willis. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 23, and from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 24, at the Duluth Chapel of Bill Head Funeral Home. Westbrook tragically died in a traffic accident June 21.
