Gingrich to Exit Race Next Week

Fox News is reporting that sources inside his campaign say presidential candidate Newt Gingrich will end his campaign next week.

After losing big to Mitt Romney Tuesday, Newt Gingrich plans to formally leave the Republican presidental race next week, according to Fox news. It is also reported that he will "more than likely," endorse Romney when he makes the announcement. The decision comes on the heals of Romney sweeping the five primaries Tuesday, making it statistically impossible for Gingrich to prevent him for garnering the 1,144 delegates needed to secure the nomination. He is expected to complete his North Carolina schedule next week before making the formal announcement on Tuesday. Gingrich, as a native son, was the popular choice in the March 6 primary in Georgia. Gwinnettians as well as Walton County residents supported him over other candidates. Statewide …

Gingrich Eager to Debate Obama on 'Religious Bigotry'

Herman Cain whips crowd of Newt supporters into a frenzy.

Enthusiastic Newt Gingrich supporters turned the Forsyth County GOP mass precinct meeting into a campaign pep rally for Georgia's favorite son and presidential hopeful Saturday. The purpose of the meeting, which was held at the Performing Arts Center at South Forsyth High School, was to elect precinct delegates to the county convention next month. But an estimated half the crowd didn't belong to the Forsyth County GOP. They came out after it was announced late in the week the former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives would be the featured speaker. Republican Party Vice Chairman Brad Wilkins, who worked security Saturday, said the PAC seats about 400. At least 100 more lined each wall and some 50-100 cars were turned away at the …

By the way, please don’t mention the REASON that Mitt Romney’s dad was born in Mexico (i.e. the fact that Mitt’s Mormon grand-dad LEFT the United States in the 1880’s and went to Mexico because laws against polygamy were passed in the U.S. ; Being a Mormon back then, Mitt’s grand-dad wanted to keep his multiple wives. Hey, who wouldn’t?) Bottom line: if we follow the “logic” of the people crying …   more ›

UPDATE: Gingrich 2nd in Gwinnett GOP Straw Poll; Paul Wins

In Suwanee, Gingrich calls Georgia crucial to his election hopes.

Updated Feb. 19, 2012 Calling President Obama the "most dangerous president in modern American history," Newt Gingrich made bold statements on the current administration and his presidential plans in a speech Saturday in Suwanee. The talk followed an earlier Gingrich rally Saturday in Forsyth County. The former U.S. House speaker was introduced to the crowd of about 400 people at Collins Hill High by Atlanta-based businessman Herman Cain, who ended his presidential campaign in December and recently threw his support behind Gingrich. Attacking Obama on several fronts, Gingrich said the president "refuses to tell the truth about people who want to hurt us." He said Obama's approach to national defense "is the most destructive unilateral …

That success belongs to our military and our intelligence people. Obama had no choice in the decision. He didn't want to be like Clinton who passed on the opportunity to take out Bin Laden. I think he also agreed because of politics and not because it was the right thing to do.   more ›

Gingrich To Speak in Suwanee This Week

The GOP presidential candidate will stop at Collins Hill High on Saturday.

Newt Gingrich, casting an eye toward his former home state as Super Tuesday approaches, will make a campaign stop in Suwanee this week. The former U.S. House speaker from Georgia will be at on Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11:30-12:15. This comes not long after a scheduled stop in Cumming on Saturday, according to a campaign spokesperson. Most major polls show Gingrich running behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum in the quest to oppose President Obama in November. A New York Times delegate count shows Ginrich in third place. So Super Tuesday (March 6) takes on added importance, as Georgia and Virginia, now Gingrich's home state, are among the 11 states scheduled to vote that day. Suwanee Patch will have more updates on this event.

You could ask what kind of birth control Callista used when she was his mistress. And what kind of birth control his wife, #1 or #2, used at the same time. And if taxpayers of Georgia and the United States of America paid for what must have been a fairly large bill. Then you could ask if he's taking any medications, at taxpayer expense, for symptoms of any psychological disorder. He has a history…   more ›

Gingrich Takes Win in South Carolina

Minutes after the polls closed, Fox News projected that Newt Gingrich was the winner in the South Carolina Republican primary.

Just minutes after the polls closed, Fox News projected that Newt Gingrich was the winner of the South Carolina primary. With Iowa reversing its earlier win for Mitt Romney, giving it to Rick Santorum, it gives these three candidates each a win in the primaries run so far - Santorum took the first one in Iowa, Romney in New Hampshire and Gingrich in a surprise comeback in South Carolina. There is still no call for third and fourth place, which was being battled out between Santorum and Ron Paul. The next primary will be Jan. 31 in the all important state of Florida.
