Ebony Society Finalizing Plans for MLK Jr. Events
There's still time to register entries for the parade honoring Civil Rights leader Martin Luther King Jr.
The United Ebony Society of Gwinnett County Inc. is finalizing plans for the 2013 annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration Jan. 20 and 21and the Black History Month Exhibit Feb. 1-28. According to a press release issued by the local United Ebony Society, this year’s MLK’s theme of ‘Character and Service’ is a call to the community to answer the passionate words by Dr. King: “Life's most persistent and urgent question is…What are you doing for others?” The celebration starts at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, at Meadowcreek High School, 4455 Steve Reynolds Blvd., in Norcross with essay readings and performances by Gwinnett County students.
