The Suwanee Branch of the Gwinnett Public Library will host an Asian Pacific American Heritage event from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 27, according to the library system website. The event is being held to commemorate the 20th anniversary of APA Heritage Month. It is billed as "Stories about Love, Family & Identity by Asian Pacific Americans in the South." Anyone who wants to talk football with Vince Dooley these days needs to wait. The school's winningest football coach (201 victories from 1964-88) and former athletic director now has a new passion: gardening. "I've been bitten by the gardening bug, and there is no cure for the infection," he said at a speech at Gwinnett Tech last October. Dooley will return to Gwinnett Tech in Lawrenceville on Wednesday, April 20, at 10 a.m. for another gardening discussion, in conjunction with the school's spring plant sale.
