Gwinnett County parents interested in the online learning option for their students have additional time this spring to register for the 2013-2014 school year. A spring registration period for Gwinnett County Online Campus (GOC) began Monday, April 15, and closes on May 3. Gwinnett County's full-time, online learning option will expand next school year and serve students in grades 4-12. Because Gwinnett Online Campus is a system charter school, enrollment is open to all current school-aged children who reside in Gwinnett County. The school opened in 2011 as a full-time high school (Grades 9-12) and extended its reach in 2012 to offer middle school students (Grades 6-8) the opportunity to attend the online school full time. In addition to accepting new students for the second semester in January, the Gwinnett Online Campus also is holding informational meetings for new students interested in the 2013-2014 school year. For the spring 2013 semester, the Norcross-area school will be accepting current sixth through 12th graders, but next school year, the online campus is adding fourth and fifth graders to the student body. Gwinnett County Public Schools is offering a summer registration period for its new online charter school Gwinnett Online Campus. This registration period will allow any student who missed the previous registration deadline an opportunity to enroll for the fall, according to a GCPS press release. Beginning this August, the charter school expands its services to include the middle school level. Registration is open to Gwinnett County residents who are entering sixth through 12th grade. While some Gwinnett students have closed their books for the summer, others who want to catch up or get ahead will be cracking open their books again when Summer School starts later in June. Face-to-Face Classes are scheduled June 12-July 11 for high school students and rising ninth graders at Mountain View High School, Peachtree Ridge High School and South Gwinnett High School, according to information provided by Gwinnett County Public Schools. Gwinnett County Online Campus (GOC), Gwinnett’s full-time online learning option, has extended registration for the 2012–13 school year through March 15 for students in grades 6–12. Students can get more information through the counselor’s office at the local middle or high school and on the GOC website. Brookwood High School, Crews Middle School and Gwin Oaks Elementary School emerged as the winners of the Gwinnett Readers Rally in finals at the GCPS TV Studio. Gwinnett Online Campus, a full-time online learning option for public school students, will offer sessions Thursday, Feb. 2, to provide information to help Duluth High School and Duluth Middle School students make informed decisions about enrolling. The sessions for Duluth schools will be presented in the Theatre at Duluth High School. The middle school session will occur from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. followed by the high school session from 7:30 to 8:15 p.m. Registration for the 2012-13 school year starts Feb. 1 and continues through Feb. 29.
