News Nearby: More Than $2 Million in Meth Seized

About 131.2 pounds of the drugs were found at the James Road home in Lawrenceville, according to the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office.

More than $2 million in methamphetamine was seized at a home on James Road in Lawrenceville. Local law enforcement agencies converged May 1 on the home after receiving a tip that drugs were being stored there. When Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Homeland Security Investigations agents arrived, they found two containers filled with what they believed to be methamphetamine. The Gwinnett Metro Task Force also found the drug in liquid form at the home. In all, approximately 131.2 pounds of methamphetamine was seized from the home. The drugs have an estimated street value of $2,099,200. One suspected was arrested on the scene, and another arrested the next day. The investigation is still ongoing. Patch has confirmed the …

Gwinnett Sheriff's Deputies Conduct Warrant Sweep

During the operation 179 attempts to serve warrants were made, 42 warrants were cleared, and 34 persons were arrested.

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Deputies were out in force during the evening and early morning hours of Tuesday, Jan. 15.   About 40 deputies in teams of two participated in a “warrant sweep,” according to Lt. Sean Smith, public information officer for the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office. There were approximately 381 outstanding warrants for 299 persons wanted. Some persons had more than one warrant/charge. During the operation 179 attempts to serve warrants were made, 42 warrants were cleared, and 34 persons were arrested, Smith reported in a media release.

Duluth PD Sponsoring Honor Ride

Twenty-four cyclists to ride in 'leapfrog' bicycling event from Virginia Beach to Duluth.

Duluth Police officers will be participating in the Operation One Voice Honor Ride this week. A team of 24 law enforcement officers, firefighters and members of U.S. Special Operations Forces will ride in the 60-mile “leapfrog” bicycling event starting in Virginia Beach, VA, Tuesday, Sept. 4, and ending in Duluth Friday, Sept. 7. The Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia State Patrol will take also part in this year’s Honor Ride, according to a press release. Lt. Bill Stevens, Master Patrol Officer Bobby Johnson and Sgt.
