The Gwinnett Symphony Orchestra & Chorus will present ‘Shimmer,’ the final Masterworks concert of its 2013 season, in the Performing Arts Center at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth on Sunday, April 28. There will be a performance by the Gwinnett Symphony Youth Orchestra at 4:30 p.m., with the GSO&Chorus performance starting at 5:30 p.m., according to a news release. The Youth Orchestra will be performing a “Night at the Movies” pops concert. The Gwinnett Center in Duluth has partnered with AEG Facilities for support services. AEG, a Los Angeles-based international sports, entertainment and venue company, will assist Gwinnett Center with event programming, sponsorship and premium seating sales, purchasing, vendor venue services, advertising and event-day operations. Gwinnett Medical Center celebrated National Heart Month by presenting “Get Heart Smart - an interactive heart health expo” Saturday, Feb. 9, at the Gwinnett Center in Duluth. The free community event attracted hundreds of participants. The expo featured educational seminars, fitness classes, a heart-healthy cooking contest, and discounted medical screenings. Giveaways to participants included iPods, local gym memberships and other ways to encourage improving heart health.
