Learn Fundamentals from Georgia Force Players

Georgia Force sponsoring Football Camp June 8 in Duluth for youth ages 6-13.

Youth between the ages of 6 and 13 are invited to attend the second annual Georgia Force Football Camp Friday, June 8, to learn the fundamentals of the game from current players at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth. Registration starts at 8 a.m. with the camp kicking off at 9 a.m. A catered lunch by Papa John's will be served at 11 a.m. followed by an autograph session with Georgia Force players at noon. Camp attendees should wear athletic gear suitable for Astro Turf. The cost is $40 per camper until Wednesday, June 6. The price will be $50 the day of the camp. This includes a youth T-shirt, a ticket to the June 9 Georgia Force vs. Jacksonville Sharks game at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, the post-camp meal provided by Papa John's, …

Georgia Force Loses, 94-42

Philadelphia Soul Wins in Gwinnett.

In a game that typifies Arena Football League, the Georgia Force fell to the Philadelphia Soul 92-42 on Saturday at the Gwinnett Arena. Philadelphia took a quick 14-0 lead en route to a 56-28 halftime advantage. Force QB R.J. Archer had four touchdown passes in the first half, three to C.J. Johnson. The Force is now 2-2 on the season. Their next game is Saturday in Gwinnett against Chicago.

Georgia Force Wins in Jacksonville

Gwinnett team is now 2-1 on the season.

The Georgia Force earned win No. 2 of the Arena Football League season Saturday as they rolled past defending league champion Jacksonville, 69-41, in Florida. The Force was led by the tandem of quarterback R.J. Archer and receiver Larry Shipp, which connected for six touchdowns. The last one gave the Force a 48-20 lead in the second half. Archer also ran for a score. Now 2-1, the Force have a bye week before returning to the Gwinnett Arena on Saturday, April 7, against Philadelphia.

Georgia Force Suffers First Loss in Tampa

Team is now 1-1 in 2012. Next game scheduled March 24 at Jacksonville.

  The Georgia Force suffered its first defeat of 2012 with a 50-47 setback to the Storm in Tampa, FL, on Friday (March 16), according to a team news release. The Storm took a 27-6 lead with two minutes to play in the first half. But the Force rallied late to make the game close, with touchdown passes to Brandon McRae and Larry Shipp and  a fumble recovery by Tracy Belton. Georgia's next Arena Football League game also is on the road on Saturday, March 24, at Jacksonville. The team plays at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth when at home.

Georgia Force To Hold Tryout in Suwanee on Saturday

The Arena League team will look over potential players at Silverbacks Sports Center.

Updated Feb. 17, 2012 The Georgia Force, which plays its Arena Football League games at the Gwinnett Arena in Duluth, plans to hold its final tryout session for this season on Saturday, Feb. 18, 9 a.m., in Suwanee. The session will be at Silverbacks Sports Center, 4285 Brogdon Exchange Road. Head Coach Dean Cokinos, along with his staff, will conduct the workout and evaluate the players.  “This is our final opportunity to evaluate potential candidates in an open forum," Cokinos said in a news release. "We are hopeful that we will find some additional talent." Kickers will not be evaluated at this session. Georgia Force Plans Tryouts in Suwanee

Arena League football team to hold session at Silverbacks Park in September.

The Georgia Force recently completed its Arena Football League season in Gwinnett, and it already is making plans for 2012. The team will hold tryouts on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Silverbacks Park in Suwanee, according to a media release. The tryouts will consist of a 40-yard dash, short shuttle, individual drills, and one-on-ones. Those who register by Wednesday, September 21 at 5:00 p.m. will pay a $70 registration fee, while those who sign up after will pay $80.
