Falcons' Gwinnett Scrimmage Shortened by Lightning

Friday Night Lights gave way to Friday Night lightning, as Atlanta Falcons fans gathered at Norcross High to see their beloved NFL team return to action.

NFL fans hungry for action got only an appetizer Friday when their beloved Atlanta Falcons took the field for their annual Friday Night Lights scrimmage at Norcross High School. Coach Mike Smith's team went through their stretching exercises and any number of individual and team drills, much as they would any practice day session at their Flowery Branch facility. That lasted for about an hour. Then the two teams squared off in what fans had really come to see, an 11 on 11 scrimmage. Both the Red and White squads got in one offensive series before the Falcons found the explosion they say they've been looking for. Unfortunately, it was up in the sky, not on the gridiron.
