Rain Brings Threat of Flooding to Area

The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for the metro Atlanta area including Duluth.

A stalled front across central Georgia is expected to bring widespread rain to the metro area, according to the National Weather Service. The heavy, steady rain could cause flooding to areas with small streams, rivers and low lying areas to north Georgia. The NWS has issued a flood watch through tonight (Tuesday, Jan. 15). The rain is expected to diminish on Wednesday, but is expected to increase again on Thursday, which could cause additional flooding in the area. By Thursday night the rain is expected to end. Friday is predicted to be sunny with a high near 53 degrees. Evening temperatures are predicted to dip to 32 degrees.
