Rained-out July 3 fireworks show to light up sky after Sept. 22 free community concert on Duluth Town Green.
The large crowd of folks who were disappointed after heavy rain generated by a summer thunderstorm forced cancellation of fireworks at “Duluth Celebrates America” July 3 at Scott Hudgens Park will have the opportunity to see the show after all. Alisa Williams, director of public information and marketing, announced at the Duluth City Council meeting Monday (Sept. 10) that the rained-out fireworks display has been rescheduled to light up the sky after the free Sept. 22 community concert hosted by the Duluth Fall Festival Committee on the Duluth Town Green. Gwinnett County Fire and Emergency Services encourages residents to attend a fireworks show instead of using fireworks. There are quite a few fireworks displays to choose from this weekend in Gwinnett and in the metro Atlanta area. According to fireworks safety information provided by Gwinnett Fire/ES, over the past few years, Georgia's laws regarding fireworks have changed and the following are now legal: Although these types of fireworks are allowed in Georgia, citizens should use caution to avoid injury during this year's Independence Day holiday celebrations. Fireworks to light up sky after Gwinnett Braves game tonight against IronPigs at Coolray Field.
Tonight (May 30) is Military Appreciation Night at the Gwinnett Braves Game at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. The G-Braves play the Lehigh Valley IronPigs starting at 7:05 p.m. Fireworks will light up the night sky after the game. In-game Memorial Day ceremonies and special videos are also planned. As a special promotion at tonight’s game, there will be a camo jersey auction presented by Kipper Tool. Check the G-Braves website for special discounts and promotions. Tuesdays, for instance, are Kraft Singles Nights. Bring a wrapper from a package of Kraft Cheese Singles and get 2-1 tickets. That discount will apply to the May 31 game.
