Speak Out: How Do You Rate the President's Speech?

Who had the best speech of the Democratic National Convention? Do you rate the president's speech as the best, or not? Take our poll or comment.

President Barack Obama may have had to change his location -- shutting out thousands of people from seeing him live -- but inside the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C., he still captured the devotion of many. He accepted the Democratic Party's nomination, and then went on to tell the American people that he's done much to get the country back on track, leading with the federal assistance to automakers. Poll: Did Clinton's Speech Help President Obama?

Former President Bill Clinton gave a rousing speech -- as evidenced by a cheering and chanting crowd. But, did it do its job?

Democrats wrapped up a second day of the national convention in Charlote, N.C., on Sept. 5. The keynote speaker was former President Bill Clinton. Clinton and President Barack Obama have not always gotten along - take four years ago, for example. Then, Hillary Clinton wanted to be president, too, and there was a fiery battle to the nomination. Nowadays, Clinton is behind Obama. And, he got a few comedic jabs to the Republican Party just to make sure it was clear. "People ask me all the time how we delivered four surplus budgets," he said in a prepared statement. "What new ideas did we bring? I always give a one-word answer: arithmetic." Student Reporting on Democratic National Convention

The eighth grade student at Autrey Mill Middle School in Johns Creek will be covering the convention for Scholastic Kids Press this week.

Andrew Liang, a 13-year-old student at Autrey Mill Middle School in Johns Creek, is covering the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, NC, this week for Scholastic News. Liang is an experienced Kid Reporter for the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps, having covered many issues, including education, the economy, and disaster relief during the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. He has been reporting since at least December 2009, as shown in his blog on Scholastic News Press. At Autrey Mill Middle School, he's a member of the Lion News Network (LNN) team.
