Chamber to Honor Rainbow Village at Annual Dinner

Transitional housing program for homeless families to receive D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award.

  Rainbow Village has been selected to receive the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce’s D. Scott Hudgens Humanitarian Award to be presented at the chamber’s 64th Annual Dinner Friday, Feb. 3, 2012. “Rainbow Village will be recognized before a crowd of over 1,000 community leaders for embodying the spirit of compassion and generosity to which Hudgens was so deeply committed,” according to an announcement in Rainbow Village’s newsletter. Duluth-based Rainbow Village, which celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2011, is a transitional housing program for homeless families with children that works to break the cycles of homelessness, poverty and domestic violence.
