Gwinnett Braves to Host 'Boston Strong' Night

Sports stars formerly from Boston, including Matt Ryan, Jason Varitek, Rodney Harrison and Dee Brown, will be at Coolray Field on May 7th. Part of ticket sales from the night will go to OneFundBoston.org.

The Gwinnett Braves will show their support for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing with a special night to raise funds for the families affected. On Tuesday, May 7, the G-Braves will play the Boston Red Sox's minor league team the Pawtucket Red Sox. First pitch is at 6:05 p.m. at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. The first pitches will be thrown out by athletes who played in Boston at one time or another. Chopper Predicts Good Weather for G-Braves Opener

Gwinnett Braves mascot makes an Opening Day promise to local fans. Opening Day is April 4.

Chopper, the Gwinnett Braves' costumed mascot, may be trying to make Opening Day his personal Groundhog Day. With all the unseasonably cool spring weather in 2013, Chopper has made a promise to local fans. If the temperature dips below 50 degrees on April 4 before the third inning, free ticket vouchers will be distributed to fans in attendance at Coolray Field. The vouchers will be good for another 2013 home game. The G-Braves will open their fifth season at Coolray Field Thursday, April 4, vs. the Charlotte Knights. Former Atlanta Falcon Brian Finneran and current player Kroy Biermann will throw out the ceremonial first pitches. DHS Baseball Team to Play in Showcase Event

Ten high school teams will compete March 8-9 at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville.

Ten high school baseball tams from Gwinnett and Forsyth counties will compete in a two-day, five-game event Friday and Saturday at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. On March 8-9, teams from South Gwinnett, Mountain View, Lanier, North Gwinnett, Providence Christian, Duluth, Collins Hill, Brookwood, North Forsyth and Peachtree Ridge will take to the diamond in the event's debut. “We’ve had singular events before, showcasing some top high school baseball teams in the area,” Gwinnett Braves General Manager North Johnson said in a news release. “Through the efforts of the community and our staff, we have expanded to welcome the largest high school showcase in the history of Coolray Field. Gwinnett Braves Offering Promotions, Specials

New Team Tuesdays will feature selected players signing autographs before the games.. The season opens April 4.

Baseball season is near, and the Gwinnett Braves have some special promotions in store for games at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Returning will be such specials as $3 Thursdays, and Kids Eat Free Mondays. There will be $3 food and drink specials on Thursday home games. On Mondays, kids 12-under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, bag of chips and a small soda. New will be will be Team Tuesdays, which include pregame autograph sessions. Before each Tuesday night game (excluding June 11), select G-Braves players will be available for autographs on the Coolray Field concourse.  Also, the first 500 fans will receive a collectible poster featuring prominent G-Braves players from past and present. Gwinnett Braves Release 2013 Schedule

The Atlanta Braves' AAA affiliate will begin play April 4, 2013.

For those of you who can't get enough baseball, the Gwinnett Braves have released their preliminary 2013 schedule. The team will open its fifth season of baseball at Coolray Field on April 4, 2013, against IL South rival Charlotte, the G-Braves announced in a news release. It will be the first of 12 homestands for the G-Braves in 2013. Game times and individual promotions have yet to be announced. However, season tickets already are on sale for next season, and can be obtained by calling 678-277-0340. The full preliminary schedule can be viewed at gwinnettbraves.com.

It's Fan Appreciation Night at Coolray Field

Thursday, Aug. 30, is the Gwinnett Braves' final home date for 2012.

Attention Duluth G-Braves fans! On Thursday (Aug. 30), the Gwinnett Braves (61-77) will play their final games of the 2012 season at Coolray Field. The double-header (5:50 p.m.) vs. Pawtucket is part of the schedule changes this week as a result of rain from Hurricane Isaac. Also, there will be several non-baseball highlights, accoring to a G-Braves news release. Fan-friendly activities include: Also, the first 2,000 fans entering the gates will receive a special Gwinnett Braves replica jersey. The jersey will feature photos of over 300 fans who have been selected via a Facebook promotion earlier this season. However, the fans will not know if they’ve been selected to be on the jersey until they receive it on Thursday night.

Get in Free to See G-Braves Today

The Gwinnett Braves have scheduled a free game because of the heavy rains from Hurricane Isaac moving over the area.

There's been another change to the last few days of the Gwinnett Braves' season. The game against the Pawtucket Red Sox, which was first moved to Tuesday at 2:05 p.m., has been postponed until Wednesday (Aug. 29) afternoon. That game is now scheduled to start at 1:05 p.m. weather permitting.  Wednesday's originally scheduled game had already been moved to a doubleheader on Thursday starting at 5:05 p.m. at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. Because of all the changes, the G-Braves decided to make all tickets to Wednesday's game free to the public. Tickets to Thursday's games will still be regularly priced. Thursday is the last game at Coolray Field for the season. The G-Braves' will close the 2012 season on the road against the Norfolk Tides …

Gwinnett Braves Have Final 2012 Homestand

Baseball and more will be on display at Coolray for the final time this season.

The Gwinnett Braves have their final homestand for 2012 from Aug. 20-30, and there will be action besides baseball. On the field, Ernesto Mejia is attempting to become the third straight G-Brave to win the International League Rookie of the Year award (after Freddie Freeman in 2010 and Julio Teheran in 2011). Mejia has 24 home runs, 87 RBI and 140 hits. The G-Braves are 59-71 on the season after Sunday's 13-10 victory at Durham. What has been your favorite Gwinnett Braves memory for 2012? The Gwinnett Braves continue their current homestand this weekend (Aug. 10-12) at Coolray Field. And as usual, there's a lot of non-baseball entertainment. Following are some highlights.
