Local churches, businesses come together to provide for the less fortunate
Have you ever worried about where your next meal was going to come from? For 19 years, families have been coming to Hands of Christ for help when they had nowhere else to turn. Close to a dozen local churches and many businesses have come together to provide food, money, supplies and volunteers to Hands of Christ -- A Duluth Cooperative Ministry. “We provide food, assistance with rent, home mortgages, utilities, prescription medication, vouchers for clothing, job referrals, referrals to other agencies, support, solutions, shoulders to cry on, and open ears to hear and listen to the clients," said Director Mary Roberts.
