'A Not So Silent Night' Continues at New Dawn

The original Christmas play reaffirms magic of Christmas during its run Dec. 6-23 in Duluth.

New Dawn Theater Company is performing its original Christmas production of "A Not So Silent Night" (A Soldier's Christmas Story) Thursday, Dec. 6, through Dec. 23. The play is especially meaningful for families who have members serving in the military away from home during the holidays. Written and directed by Sherry Ingbritsen, president and artistic director of the New Dawn Theater, the play reaffirms the magic of Christmas. Performance dates are Dec 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22, 23 at 8 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Holiday Play Continues at New Dawn

'Dad's Christmas Miracle' ideal for entire family to celebrate the holidays, appeals to all ages.

  The heart-warming 1950s-era holiday play “Dad’s Christmas Miracle” continues this weekend at New Dawn Theater in Duluth. Grandpa Connor Murphy recalls the Christmas he wanted a go-cart more than anything, but his teacher Miss McLaughlin messes things up by handing out report cards just before Christmas vacation. His dismal report card dashes his hopes of getting the go-cart. The scenes switch between the elder Connor telling his grandchildren about his childhood Christmas and vignettes of his memories acted out by his family when Connor was a boy. Grandpa Connor Murphy recalls the Christmas he wanted a go-cart more than anything and the excitement in the Murphy household as the holiday approaches.
