Murovich Paces Gwinnett Gladiators in 4-3 Win

The win keeps Gwinnett (28-13-7-4) in first place in the South Division.

Tyler Murovich’s shorthanded goal in the third was the difference Friday (Feb. 17) night as the Gwinnett Gladiators topped the Chicago Express 4-3 at the Sears Centre. The win keeps Gwinnett (28-13-7-4) in first in the South Division. Forward Bryan Brutlag won a footrace to a loose puck in the Express (22-20-6-2) zone, stopped, and found Murovich all alone in front. The Gladiators forward then slid a shot past Chicago goaltender Peter Mannino at 12:42 for his second goal of the game to push Gwinnett’s lead to 4-2. Maxime Gratchev kept Chicago within reach with a marker on the power play at 13:48, but the Gladiators held on despite being outshot 35-17. Joe Palmer turned aside 32 shots for the win, while Mannino was saddled with the loss. …

Galivan Leads Gwinnett to 3-1 Win Over Chicago

Gladiators wrap up eight-game home stand Sunday afternoon as they host the Kalamazoo Wings at 4:05 p.m.

Pat Galivan led the Gwinnett Gladiators to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Express with two goals Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in front of 6,532 fans. The Express opened the scoring at 15:36 into the second period with a goal from Scott Wietcha. He rebounded the puck off of Gladiator netminder Joe Palmer’s chest and jammed it in through the five-hole to give Chicago a 1-0 advantage. The Gladiators answered with a tying tally just 1:11 after Chicago’s goal as Pat Galivan picked up his 50th goal as a Gladiator to tie the game at one. Gladiators Win 11th Straight Home Game 4-3

Gwinnett team outshoots Florida Everblades at Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth.

  The Gladiators earned their 11th straight home victory in a 4-3 shoot out win over the Florida Everblades on Thursday (Feb. 9) night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center.  The first period ended in a scoreless tie, with both teams going 0-for-1 on the power play. The Everblades out shot the Gladiators 6-4 in the period. Just 48 seconds into the second period, Everblade forward Brayden Irwin scored the opening marker of the game to give Florida the 1-0 lead. Ryan McGinnis and David Rutherford picked up the assists on the goal for the Blades. Florida gained a 2-0 advantage at the 5:01 mark of the period. Forward Mathieu Roy was able to beat Gladiators netminder Joe Palmer off of a weird bounce and put the puck behind the goaltender. Defensemen …
