Intersection Not As Dangerous Now With Signal

Traffic signal Installed at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Chattahoochee Drive where numerous vehicular crashes and several fatalities have occurred.

A traffic signal has been installed at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Chattahoochee Drive through cooperation between Gwinnett County and the City of Duluth. The estimated $100,000 cost of the new traffic light is being shared 50/50 by the city and county. The Duluth City Council approved entering into an intergovernmental agreement with the county to share the cost in February. Gwinnett County provided the design for the signalized intersection. Numerous vehicular crashes and several traffic fatalities have been reported at the dangerous intersection. I use this intersection twice a week and just had a friend in a near fatal accident there a month or so ago. So thankful to see this improvement.   more ›

Dangerous Duluth Intersection to Get Traffic Signal

Duluth and Gwinnett DOT to share $100,000 cost of installing traffic light at Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Chattahoochee Drive.

  Duluth and Gwinnett County are going to share the cost of installing a traffic light at a dangerous intersection in the city. The new signal is estimated to cost $100,000 with the city and county each committing $50,000. At its regular Feb. 13 meeting last night, the Duluth City Council approved entering into an intergovernmental agreement with the county to facilitate installation of the traffic signal at the intersection of Peachtree Industrial Boulevard (PIB) and Chattahoochee Drive. “Over the past few months, several residents have come to us with concerns about the safety of this intersection,” Mayor Nancy Harris said. I work right past that intersection. If you saw as many upside down cars and other horrible accidents you wouldn't care that you might have to stop at "another red light".   more ›
