Not sure about pairing chocolate with beer? The Best of Brews and artisan chocolatier M Chocolat are teaming up for a tasting at New Dawn Theater in Duluth Saturday, April 14. Two seatings are available at 7 p.m. or 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 a person and may be by made calling 678-887-5015 or visiting New Dawn’s website. New Dawn Theater is located at 3087 Main St. Tickets may also be purchased at Best of Brews, a draft beer-to-go growler shop located at 3099 Main St. BOB features 32 imported, domestic and craft beers. Only guests 21 and over will be served. Prepare to be carded!

Bobby Thomas, the head brewer from Red Hare Brewing Company in Marietta, will debut his newest beer Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Best of Brews, a growler filling shop in Historic Downtown Duluth. The Imperial Red IPA will be tapped at noon. This limited edition/limited quantity beer is the second in the Rabbit’s Reserve series, following the Chocolate Porter introduced in November 2011. The debut of the Imperial Red IPA at the Best of Brews precedes the introduction later in the day at the brewery. Red Hare also brews a lager style beer (Long Day Lager), an IPA (Gangway India Pale Ale), and a nut brown ale (Watership Brown) all year long. As part of a 10th anniversary series of celebrations, New Dawn Theater Company in Duluth will be hosting a Valentine Dinner-Dance from 7 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11. The ticket price of $20 a person includes dinner catered by Steverino’s, dancing and socializing for couples age 17 and up. Each couple will also get a keepsake photograph. DJ for the evening will be Josh Garcia. Best of Brews will operate a cash bar featuring beer and wine. Attire is semi-formal to formal (cocktail wear to evening wear). Duluth’s New Dawn Theater Company will celebrate its 10th anniversary with a series of monthly events starting in January. The Best of Brews will present a Beer Tasting Evening at the theater as the first special event Saturday, Jan. 14. There will be two sittings at 7:30 and 8:30 p.m. featuring different flavors and styles of beer. Tickets are $10 a person. Guests will have the option of purchasing 64 oz. growlers or smaller 32 oz. containers filled with their choice of draft domestic and imported beers to take home. Best of Brews opened last fall on Main Street in downtown Duluth. Best of Brews on Main Street offers 29 varieties of beer on tap in growlers for beer connoisseurs to enjoy at home. An old-fashioned style root beer is also available.
Longtime Duluth resident Greg Lindquist opened the Best of Brews, Gwinnett County’s first “draft beer to go” shop, on Main Street in Historic Downtown Duluth this fall. The shop sells 64 oz. and 32 oz. growlers of 29 domestic, imported and special brews on tap that beer connoisseurs can carry home to enjoy. An old-fashioned style root beer is also available. Lindquist changes out about a third of the beer kegs a week to keep the selection interesting. The choices include pilsners, ales, lagers and seasonal beers from breweries throughout the United States and all over the world. He always keeps Budweiser Light in stock. “It’s the most popular draft beer in the U.S.,” Lindquist said. A list of beers is available on the shop’s website. …
