'Beer to Go' In Johns Creek?
City council mulling allowing ‘beer growler’ businesses.
Johns Creek may be the next city to follow the beer growler trend. At its work session on Monday, the council discussed the possibility of amending at a future meeting its alcoholic beverages policy to allow businesses to sell draft beer to go. Growlers, which have recently made the map in nearby Alpharetta and Duluth, are defined as “professionally sanitized glass bottles or jugs not exceeding 64 ounces in volume used to transport draft beer for off-premises consumption.” Consumption on the premises where growlers were sold would not be allowed, and package stores would not be allowed to sell them.
