Aliff, Wueste Lead Duluth Runners in Peachtree Road Race

Thomas Aliff and Regan Wueste were the fastest man and woman runners in the popular 4th of July road race.

Thomas Aliff and Regan Wueste were Duluth’s top finishers in the 2012 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race, Atlanta’s popular Fourth of July foot race. According to unofficial results posted Wednesday afternoon by the Atlanta Track Club, Aliff, 33, clocked the fastest time among Duluth runners, finishing 410th overall in a time of 39 minutes, 30 seconds. Wueste, 28, was the area’s fastest woman, finishing 67th overall among the women in a time of 41:09. Kenyan Peter Kirui won the 10-kilometer race through Midtown Atlanta with a time of 27:37. Mamitu Chepkurui of Ethiopia was the women’s overall winner in 32:22. More than 57,000 runners participated in the annual Fourth of July road race. Other top local finishers Men: Shawn …
