High school seniors planning to major in art invited to apply online at Duluth Fine Arts League website.
The Duluth Fine Arts League is providing three scholarships for deserving high school seniors who will be majoring in the fine arts in the fall of 2013. Scholarships will be awarded to the first, second and third place students in the amounts of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000, respectively, DFAL Scholarship Co-chairman Mary Buck announced. Lucille Walker also is serving as scholarship co-chaiman. The deadline to submit applications is 6 p.m. Saturday, March 30. Interviews and talent performances are scheduled Sunday, April 28 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Red Clay Theater in downtown Duluth. Duluth Fine Arts League's 'An Evening in Paris' attracts overflow attendance of 300, raises funds for scholarships.
The Duluth Fine Arts League’s “Arts at Twilight” brought enthusiastic community arts supporters together for an elegant “Evening in Paris” soiree Saturday (July 14). Nearly twice the number of anticipated guests attended the event at Hardeman Fine Art Glass Studio, and the crowd overflowed onto the Main Street sidewalk in front of the studio and the Duluth Town Green in the rear. The Parisian-themed evening provided an opportunity for the women to don berets and chic fashions. A few of the men got into the spirit of the festivities by wearing berets, too. Duluth Fine Arts League hosting fourth annual Arts at Twilight gala Saturday, July 14, at Hardeman Fine Art Glass.
Duluth arts supporters will spend “An Evening in Paris” Saturday, July 14. The Duluth Fine Art League is sponsoring the fourth annual Arts at Twilight gala to support arts in Duluth and raise funds for arts scholarships. The Parisian-themed gala will occur at Hardeman Fine Art Glass and extend onto the rear brick patio overlooking the white twinkling lights on the Duluth Town Green. The stained glass studio will be open for tours, and visual and performing artists will participate in the event. There will also be a silent auction. DFAL annually presents scholarships to Duluth seniors planning to study art. It awarded a total of $4,000 in scholarships in 2010 and 2011. Duluth Fine Arts League to hold auditions to determine scholarship winners this year.
The Duluth Fine Arts League is increasing the chances for talented high school art students to further their education. This year DFAL is providing three art scholarships -- two for $1,500 each and one for $1,000 -- to seniors who attend Duluth High School or who are homeschooled in Duluth. Recipients must live in Duluth. This is an increase from two $1,000 scholarships presented for each of the past two years, according to Mary Buck, who is chairing the DFAL scholarship program with Lucille Walker as co-chair. Duluth Fine Arts League's exotic evening at the Duluth Art Gallery to raise funds for art scholarships.
An 'Evening in the Tropics” means balmy breezes…palm trees…the sound of waves slapping the shore…steel drum music…flowery shirts and sundresses...flip flops and sandals. Add some art, and it’s the Duluth Fine Arts League’s Arts at Twilight. The exotic evening, sponsored by the Duluth Fine Arts League, will feature hors d’oeuvres, wine, a silent auction and a steel drum musician from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, July 16, at the Duluth Art Gallery, 3530 W.
