Villa Rica man robbed by armed gunman at the rear of Hampton Arbors Condominiums after driving to Duluth to meet woman he had been contact with through Internet website and by telephone.
Three suspects were still being held in the Gwinnett County Detention Center Thursday (Feb. 14) on charges stemming from an armed robbery at the Hampton Arbors Condominiums in Duluth. Madeline Tronrud, 27, of Duluth, Marcell Horton, 23, of Stone Mountain, and Brian Thomas, 22, of Norcross surrendered after a Duluth Police SWAT team arrived at a condo at Hampton Arbors Friday, Feb. 8, in response to a report of an earlier armed robbery near the dumpsters at the rear of the residential complex. Saturday morning attack occurred in the shopping center's parking lot, and police are looking for two suspects.
Gwinnett Police are looking for two suspects who shot a man and robbed another outside the Rockbridge Road Walmart Saturday morning about 2:50 a.m. The suspects, both black males, were armed with a semi-automatic handgun, possibly a .40 calibre Glock, according to a police media release. They approached two separate shoppers in the parking lot, shooting one, a 35-year-old male, in the leg when "he did not understand their demands and continued to walk towards the store," the report said. The other victim, a 20-year-old male, handed over his keys, wallet and cell phone. The suspects took his car and left the scene. A man was shot and another is in custody after what appears to be an attempted robbery in unincorporated Norcross, according to Gwinnett County Police. The shooting occurred just around 5 p.m. Monday at Tax Service Insurance, a business services and tax office located at 5627 Singleton Road, said Detective John Rowell in a press conference. The suspect, Jeremy Williams, 20, attempted to rob the owner, 56-year-old Damien Ezekie, at gunpoint, according to a press release from Cpl. Jake Smith. There was a struggle and Williams allegedly shot Ezekie in the head. The victim was transported to the hospital and is considered to be in critical condition. Two suspects have been arrested in the Tuesday (May 15) armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank at 3072 Old Norcross Road in Duluth. The arrests were announced by Atlanta Division Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Brian D. Lamkin and Gwinnett Police Chief Charles M. Walters in a FBI press release. At about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, two men entered the bank wearing masks and brandishing at least one semi-auto handgun, according to the release. Duluth Police are on the lookout for two suspects involved in the armed robbery of a massage parlor on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Tuesday night. Officers responded to an armed robbery in progress call at the Tong Tong Massage Parlor about 8:55 p.m., Maj. Don Woodruff reported. “One of the suspects was sitting in a getaway car. The other suspect [armed with a handgun] was coming down the steps [of the massage parlor] and engaged the first police officer who arrived in gunfire,” Woodruff said. A diner in the City of Norcross was among those stuck up.
Updated Aug. 11 at 9:30 a.m. The Norcross Police Department is on the hunt for two men who they believed robbed the Waffle House at 5122 Brook Hollow Pkwy—and nine other Metro Atlanta stores—at gunpoint. Clear video footage of the men has led investigators in Norcross, Gwinnett, DeKalb and Clayton to link the same men to all of the robberies. The Norcross PD is now asking for the public’s help in identifying the men, who they describe as black males in their 20s or 30s. Another Waffle House robbery occurred this morning in Marietta, but it is unclear if these incidents are related.
