Canadian superstar Michael Buble’s upcoming 40 city tour will include a stop Oct. 27 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth. His latest U.S. tour begins in Chicago Sept. 7. Bublé has already sold out l0 nights at the 17,000 capacity 02 Arena in London beginning June 30 and 5 nights at the l0,000 capacity 02 in Dublin beginning July 15. The June 26 concert is part of the Grammy and Latin Grammy Award-winning Columbian rock musician’s “Loud & Unplugged” tour. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 30, for a performance by rock ‘n’ roll legend Eric Clapton at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The March 27 concert in Duluth is part of Clapton’s 2013 tour, according to an announcement issued by Gwinnett Center. Clapton has assembled a band for the 2013 U.S. tour consisting of long-time touring partners: Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Steve Jordan (drums), Chris Stainton (piano and keyboards), and Willie Weeks (bass), along with newcomers Paul Carrack (organ and keyboards) and Greg Leisz (pedal steel guitar). Youth between the ages of 6 and 13 are invited to attend the second annual Georgia Force Football Camp Friday, June 8, to learn the fundamentals of the game from current players at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth. Registration starts at 8 a.m. with the camp kicking off at 9 a.m. A catered lunch by Papa John's will be served at 11 a.m. followed by an autograph session with Georgia Force players at noon. Camp attendees should wear athletic gear suitable for Astro Turf. The cost is $40 per camper until Wednesday, June 6. The price will be $50 the day of the camp. Pat Galivan led the Gwinnett Gladiators to a 3-1 victory over the Chicago Express with two goals Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in front of 6,532 fans. The Express opened the scoring at 15:36 into the second period with a goal from Scott Wietcha. He rebounded the puck off of Gladiator netminder Joe Palmer’s chest and jammed it in through the five-hole to give Chicago a 1-0 advantage. By Dustin Bixby The Gwinnett Gladiators regained first place in the ECHL’s South Division with a 3-2 win over the Greenville Road Warriors on Teddy Bear Toss Night Jan. 14 at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. The Road Warriors Brett Robinson scored the opening goal of the game at 2:03 into the first period to give Greenville the 1-0 lead. Gwinnett outshot the Warriors 11-6, but still remained down by one to end the period. Forward Andy Brandt initiated the ninth annual Teddy Bear Toss with a goal that beat Greenville’s netminder Jason Missiaen to tie the game 1-1 at 2:44 into the second period.
