Charles Brant Chesney Elementary School is easily accessible from Pleasant Hill Road and I-85. It is named after aMore Gwinnett County firefighter who taught fire prevention and fire safety to schoolchildren. Chesney, also a volunteer firefighter in Forsyth County, died in a fire in 1996. Students chose Sparky, a dalmation, as the school mascot.

The school, a part of Gwinnett County Public Schools, was named a Title I Distinguished School in 2009.

This school opened in the fall of 1966 and was named for the late B.B. Harris, a longtime educator who was a principalMore of Duluth schools and a Gwinnett County school superintendent. His daughter Nancy Harris, now the mayor of Duluth, served as principal of B.B. Harris ES from 2003-2006. Dr. Lauri Burton is the current principal. The school's mascot is the Wildcat and its colors are purple and white. B.B. Harris ES is part of Gwinnett County Public Schools.
