I have been going to Rexall for years and was upset when it closed. I was happy to see it reopen after a short downtime. In the past the Rexall diner was a place that encouraged local charities and events but apparently the new owner doesn't feel the same as the previous owner. When I walked in with my family, there was a small girl scout troop selling cookies in front of the pharmacy part of the store, which seems to be undergoing a restoration. I told them I would be right out to purchase a few boxes. When I returned to there table, A woman was berating and chastising a parent for her placement of the cookie table, saying it was blocking her place of business. When the parent asked her not to yell and use such a vehement tone in front of the girl scouts, she reacted aggressively and said "Don't tell me what to do!". At this point, the woman, whom I was told later was the owner, stormed inside. After my family and I finished our lunch we left to make a purchase of girl scout cookies and found that they had relocated around the corner. We followed the troop and made our purchase.
I am the father of a 16 year old girl and a 14 year old boy. Both of them were members of the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, respectively. I will forever be grateful for the lessons they taught my children such as courtesy, kindness and respect for others. Lessons apparently not learned by the owner of The Rexall diner.
My family and I will never return.
