Feeling Gratitude

Gratitude is an expression of joy and love.

There was a time in my life that instead of counting my blessings, I was allowing pain gloom my days. Regardless of my resistance to accept the present circumstances, I have always being surrounded by my angels. And what a blessing is that! Even when I have being through challenging times, feeling lost and abandoned, I could still hear them giving me hope and reassuring me that I wasn’t alone. Every time they have come to my rescue, they have always stressed over and over that we must let go of the sadness to make room for the enormous joy that resides within us.

I discovered that rather than appreciating what I had, I was focusing in the things that were removed from my life. The beauty of this realization was that it wasn’t because God was punishing me or due to bad luck; it was just because those things needed to go away for new things to come into my life. When we allow our limited minds to take control of our thoughts and our emotional atmosphere, we lose sight of the vision that God has for us. Instead of aligning our intentions with our higher self, we let the ego to infuse fear in our thoughts because of the expectations we have.

My inner guides told me that in order to have a grateful heart, we must balance giving and receiving. By learning to give without expecting anything back, we have to be able to receive without feeling guilty. If we intend each day to practice gratitude, it won’t take long for us to start experiencing miracles. Magically, we will find ourselves in a state of grace, experiencing unconditional love. This sublime and powerful emotion is the reward we can expect by practicing gratitude.

Even if you don’t have money or time to donate, you can still make a difference by offering a smile to someone that might be feeling lost and depressed. There are so many ways to give; all we have to do is open ourselves and our flow within will do the rest. A joyful heart is a thankful heart. Therefore, let’s find our happiness within by counting each one of our blessings. When we are unhappy, we are empowering external situations to impact us in a negative way. It is impossible to feel gratitude when we are feeling sadness or anger.

As you celebrate Thanksgiving with family and friends, ask God to vanish any shadows that may be diffusing your internal light. Take a moment to feel appreciation for everything you have. Count all your blessings and feel deep down the love that comes from God. Intend to do something special and meaningful. Take a nature walk and see the abundance and the beauty in your surroundings. It has been scientifically proven that those who cultivate gratitude, are able to live a healthier and happier life. See the magic in this wonderful world and become the inspiration you are meant to be.
