'Wintry Mix' Possible in Duluth and Gwinnett Soon

Extreme conditions could greet the first day of school in 2014 in Gwinnett.

This nasty cold weather in Duluth and Gwinnett could get even worse before the weekend is over.

According to the National Weather Service, freezing drizzle and light snow are possible, with the frozen precipitation likely beginning Sunday night (Jan. 5).

Then a "bitterly cold airmass" could follow the frozen stuff, with "single-digit" temperatures possible on Tuesday morning (Jan. 7).

Also, the weather outlook said in part:

IT APPEARS AT LEAST SOME LIGHT SNOW ACCUMULATIONS ARE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTH GEORGIA.

These conditions could affect the first day of school for Gwinnett students in 2014, which is Tuesday, Jan. 7.
