What Are Coldest Recorded Temperatures in Atlanta Area?

Single-digit temperature was in effect Tuesday in Duluth.

Following a steep slide down the thermometer beginning at sundown Monday, single-digit temperatures were in place Tuesday (Jan. 7) in Duluth.

According to weather data on the Duluth Patch home page, the temperature was 6 degrees at 6 a.m. Tuesday's high is expected to be 24 degrees by 3 p.m.

As brutal as the weather is, it's still warmer than below-zero lows in 1985.

According to National Weather Service data, here are the 10 coldest temps recorded in Atlanta:

-8, Jan. 21, 1985
-6, Jan. 20, 1985
-5, Jan. 11, 1982
-3, Jan. 30. 1966
-3, Jan. 24, 1963
-2, Jan. 10, 1982
-1, Jan. 6, 1884

0, Jan. 17, 1982
