Volunteers Participating in Good Neighbor Workday

Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful volunteers to clean up vacant, abandoned and neglected properties in Duluth and other work sites.

Local volunteers will clean up chronically vacant, abandoned and neglected properties at sites in Duluth, Lawrenceville and Lilburn from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 19. More than 500 Gwinnett Clean & Beautiful volunteers will participate in the Operation Good Neighbor Community Workday.

Projects will include painting out graffiti on fences, picking up litter, cleaning up illegal dump sites and beautifying the right-of-way. Here are the work sites:

  • Burns Road – Lilburn --16 work sites from Beaver Ruin to Pleasant Hill Road
  • Cruse Road – Lawrenceville – 13 works sites from James Road to Bethesda School Road
  • Meadow Church Road  – Duluth – Clean-up of abandoned subdivision work site

Foreclosed homes and empty lots often become eyesores, reducing neighboring property values and inviting crime. The workday addresses these problem sites.
