Spring Plant Sale to Benefit Duluth History Museum

Duluth Historical Society members sharing 'pass-alongs' at sale, partnering with Woody's Nursery.

Duluth Historical Society members will pass along some of their favorites from their own yards at the second annual plant sale on the grounds of The Historic Strickland House, the home of the Duluth History Museum, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday (April 16). The sale will be held rain or shine.

There will also be azaleas, roses, ornamentals, flowering shrubs, vegetables, and bedding plants for sale, according to Judy Wilson, president of the society. “The most fun of all is our “pass-alongs,” she said. “If you want to try something new, this is the section for you.”

“Between now and then, get your gardens and flower beds ready. Come shop with us and get great healthy plants,” Wilson added. Woody’s Nursery is partnering with the society to provide plants for the sale.

Beekeeper Jay Parsons, who rescued bees from a tree limb that fell on grounds of The Strickland House not too long ago, will have honey and beeswax candles for sale.

The society will also sell handmade birdhouses. “They come with instructions and even the pole to mount them on,” she said.
