Rainbow Village Classic at TPC Sugarloaf Nears
May 16 deadline to register for May 23 tournament featuring noon shotgun start.
Dust off your golf clubs and start practicing your swings and putts to play in the 16th annual Rainbow Village Golf Classic. Deadline to register for the classic to be played at the Tournament Players Club Sugarloaf in Duluth is May 16. Play gets underway with a shotgun start at noon Monday, May 23.
The tournament format is a four-player team scramble. The cost is $225 for individual golfers and $800 for teams of four. Participating players will be given a certificate for a discounted return visit for another round at TPC Sugarloaf.
There will be golfing skills contests and a drawing for four weekly ground tickets to the 2011 PGA Tournament. A hole-in-one wins a golf trip to Scotland. Outback Restaurant will cater the post-tournament dinner. Tournament activities start at 10 a.m. and continue until 8 p.m.

Church and synagogue groups are invited to participate in the Faith-Based Challenge Cup. Sugarloaf United Methodist Church holds the cup from last year’s classic.

Proceeds benefit Rainbow Village, a transitional housing community for homeless families with children. Rainbow Village recently broke ground for a new $6-million campus in Duluth.
