Kohl's Honors Duluth Youth for Community Service

Kohl's is recognizing local youth for their commitment to community service, and there are two local store winners from Duluth.

Both now receive a $50 gift card and a certificate from Kohl’s honoring their volunteerism. The youth now will vie for $1,000 regional scholarship awards from the Kohl's Cares Scholarship Program to be awarded in July.

From the regional winners, 10 national winners will be selected and each will receive a total of $10,000 in scholarships. Kohl’s will then donate $1,000 to a nonprofit organization on each national winner’s behalf.

The Duluth local store winners are:

  • Dalyla McGee, 18: Dalyla, along with a few other students, founded the Redefining Beautiful club at Norcross High School in order to help support other girls who may be feeling isolated and inadequate.
  • Remington Youngblood, 12: During the holidays, he assisted 18 veterans' children by personally collecting, wrapping and delivering some of the hundreds of Christmas toys and clothing.  He helped seven veteran and Army National Guardsmen families and five single veterans with clothing, food, personal items, diapers, furniture and appliances.
