Help Clean Up Duluth Church Cemetery Saturday

Volunteers needed to mow, rake leaves, plant shrubs, and other tasks to spruce up cemetery.

Put on your work clothes. Pull on your gloves, grab some yard tools and head over to the Duluth Church Cemetery Saturday, Oct. 22, to help clean it up.

The Cemetery Clean-up Day starts at 8 a.m., but come whenever you can. Volunteers will rake leaves, plant shrubs, cut grass, spread pine straw, spray weed killer, burn limbs, load and haul off trash.

The cemetery is located in downtown Duluth on Main Street next to . Enter at the main entrance to the cemetery by Calaboose Park. Park across from the cemetery on the closed part of Main Street not inside the cemetery.

Volunteers are asked to bring rakes, shovels, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and pick-up trucks.

Lunch will be served for volunteers at 12:30 p.m. at Wally’s Party Shack next to Bill Head Funeral Home on Ga. Hwy. 120. Barbara Howard of Suzanna’s Kitchen will provide barbecue, Brunswick stew and all the fixings.
