'SUPPORT OUR TROUPS,' Once a Slogan - Now an Action!

The American Legion Duluth together with a local Boy Scout Troop are combining forces in an effort to send 100 care packages to our deployed troops by Christmas.

Annually, the American Legion Auxiliary of Post 251 in Duluth organizes an endeavor to send out care packages to our deployed troops in an effort to be received by Christmas.

This year, the Auxiliary is combining forces with a local Boy Scout Troop. Together they will be assembling 100 care packages this coming Saturday, Nov 10.

The local troupe has diligently worked to raise money to help with this endeavor and have pledged to donate $1,000 towards the shipping as well as other donated items such as eye drops and socks.

If you know of an address to send a package to, please let us know by sending it to vharshbarger@live.com or by message on Facebook at
https://www.facebook.com/pages/American-Legion-Chattahoochee-Post-251/24...

We need to know by Friday night to get a count. The personal boxes are packed first and then we send the mass boxes to a hospital where they really need our items. They will be sent to out in the field by our POC.

If you would like to donate items to the troops, below is a list of items still left to get. If you have or will be donating items, please let us know so we can cross it off our list so it doesn’t get duplicated.

ITEMS STILL NEEDED:
Face and Body Lotions
Anti-Fungal Foot Spray
Oatmeal & Sugar Cookies
Sunscreen Lotions
Tuna fish (Alum Pouches)
Coffee, Creamer/Sugar Packs

ITEMS ALREADY DONATED:
Eye Drops
Socks
Deodorant
Floss
Wipes
Toothpaste & Toothbrushes
Crackers, Peanuts, Sunflower Seeds, Pop Corn, Candy
Hot Chocolate
Other misc. items.

One more incredible item that will be placed in each box, is a handmade Christmas card, each designed by Auxiliary and teacher, Pam Mclott's students at the elementary school where she works.
