Read a Lot of Books, Dream Big!

Sign up online or in person at 15 Gwinnett library locations including Duluth Branch for Summer Reading Program.

Registration for the Gwinnett County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program “Dream Big!” is available online now and in all 15 library locations including the . In addition to reading books, children and teens enjoy free programs and activities as part of the program.

Puppet shows, magic shows, storytimes, and character visits will be available all summer long. 

About $400,000 worth of prizes and incentives has been donated by local businesses to encourage young readers, according to an announcement by GPL. Last year more 38,000 kids enrolled in the library’s Summer Reading Program.

Friends of the Library and Sonic restaurants have teamed up to enhance the experience. Proceeds of Sonic sales from customers who mention the library on their visits to the restaurant chain anywhere in the county all summer long will go towards the books that kids earn at the end of the summer, as well as other library programs.

“Summertime reading is so important for continued learning between school years,” said GCPL Executive Director Nancy Stanbery-Kellam in the announcement. “The library’s Summer Reading Program helps parents keep their kids on track while celebrating the adventure and imagination that is a part of the summer vacation experience! With support from so many generous donors, we hope to include as many kids as possible in all the excitement.”

Participants also will have a chance to enter into the 529 Plan for College sweepstakes now through the end of August.
