Leisure Living is a Lot of Hard Work

Creating outdoor leisure living spaces to relax in can be a lot of hard work. Having one place that you can go for products and services to build. Renovate. Decorate. Makes projects easier.

I don't know what happened over the winter, but for as mild as the weather was, my outdoor deck and patios sure took a beating.

I painted the hand rails last spring and they already need a fresh coat.  The deck has bare wood showing and must be refinished. According to two dry cleaners my umbrella was stained beyond redemption and made its way into the trash. As for the chair cushions, I threw them away last year and haven't replaced them yet.  I just need to start over.

My first task a couple of weeks ago was to plant flowers in the containers. They looked great and were progressing nicely until last week. War has been declared on some unidentified critter that proceeds to EAT my flowers and pushes all of the dirt out of the containers. A set back.

Cleaned out all of the bird feeders and filled them. A bird smorgasbord. CertaPro is scheduled to paint the exterior house trim and refinish the deck so -- check. Commissioned Betsi Burgess to paint outdoor art for my deck and Rosa Rosa will do a piece for my side door -- check. Firepot purchased and umbrella ordered from Bloomin' Pots -- check. But what a nightmare to find seat cushions.

After looking for replacement cushions last year I gave up. I have 12 dining chairs and ran all over Atlanta to find enough matching ready-made cushions with no luck. Plus I have stools that need two round cushions impossible to find ready-made. This year in early Spring with optimism I searched Target, Sears, Walmart, Loews, Home Depo, Pikes, and Cosco again, no luck. I spoke to Laurel Miller who custom makes window treatments and concluded that there is a big need for outdoor seat cushions in various sizes. We put our heads together and found a way to offer custom cushions in Sunbrella fabrics at great prices. So my gift to you -- Laurel Miller and her custom seat cushions! Mission FINALLY accomplished, cushions ordered!
