Wildcat Summer Football Camp, Fun Camp Offered

Football Camp teaches the game the 'Wildcat Way.' Fun Camp develops athletic skills.

Wildcat Summer Football Camp for rising 7th and 8th graders will be offered Friday and Saturday, July 13 and 14, at the Duluth High School Field House. There will also be a Fun Camp for ages 6-13. Both camps will occur from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The Duluth High School coaching staff and Wildcat football players will teach football the β€œWildcat Way,” emphasizing the basic fundamentals and techniques, encouraging an overall love for the game, and instilling sportsmanship, according to Head Duluth HS Football Coach Corey Jarvis in a press release announcing the summer camps.

Football Camp participants will gain a better understanding of teamwork and cooperation though various competitive individual and group drills. The cost is $75 and includes a T-shirt.

Boys and girls attending Fun Camp will participate in competitive games that develop athletic skills and encourage teamwork and cooperation. Participants will be supervised by members of the Duluth HS athletic staff and responsible student athletes, Jarvis said. The $50 cost includes a T-shirt. Water will be provided to ensure that participants stay cool and hydrated, he said.

An application form that must be completed before camp starts can be found on the Duluth High School website.

Campers are advised to dress in comfortable clothing. They are not required to bring anything else for camp.
