What Time Is Super Bowl Kick-Off?

As an alternative to watching the Big Game on TV at home, Duluth sports bars offering viewing parties, buffets, and specials.

Wondering what time Super Bowl VVLII will start and where it will be televised locally?

Kick-off time for the NFL Championship game between the Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers is at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 3.

In Atlanta, the game will be broadcast on CBS (WGCL).

The game is being played at Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. Alicia Keys will sing the National Anthem, and Beyoncé will headline the halftime show.

Besides the two teams, the game also pits two brothers against each other. The 49ers are coached by Jim Harbaugh. John Harbaugh coaches the Ravens.

Local alternatives to watching the game at home include the Arena Tavern, CRAZE Tavern, and Tony’s Sports Bar and Grill in Duluth.

The Arena Tavern, 2500 Satellite Blvd., is sponsoring “Wing Bowl IV” the Saturday (Feb. 2) prior to the Super Bowl. The first contestant to finish 36 wings will win. The entry fee of $10 includes 36 wings, beer and prizes. The eating contest is limited to the first 24 entrants.

Wings also will part of an “all you can eat and more” buffet during a Super Bowl viewing party at Arena Tavern from 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday. The game will be shown on big screen TVs.

The Arena Tavern's buffet also includes Nachos, Southwestern Pasta and other Super Bowl favorites. Yuengling and Yuengling Light beer will be available for $2.50 a pint. In addition, there will be mixed drink specials. The cost to graze the buffet is $50 a person.

Tony’s Sports Bar & Grill, 2590 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., will be hosting a Super Bowl viewing party starting at 5 p.m. Sunday. Patrons can indulge in a buffet spread offering chicken wings, pulled pork barbecue sandwiches and a Low Country boil while watching the game on big screen TVs. The all-you-can-eat buffet is only $10. Also available will be $10 buckets of beer and $7 pitchers of house beer.

CRAZE Tavern, 3312 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., will offer a Super Bowl special of a dozen chicken wings and a pitcher of house beer (Natural Light) for $10 to enjoy while watching the game. Super Bowl activities start at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The Super Bowl will be shown on big screen TVs. There also will be a silent auction and drawings for sports prizes at the end of each quarter. To make reservations, call CRAZE Tavern at 678-869-5508.
