Tiger Woods Practices at Atlanta Athletic Club

Woods expected to play in PGA Championship the week of Aug. 8 at the Johns Creek club.

Following news that Tiger Woods would likely compete in the PGA Championship at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek, the golfer was spotted at the club today (Monday, Aug. 1) getting in a practice round on the Highlands course.

PGA of America shared with Patch these shots, posted on the organization's PGA Championship Facebook page.

Last Friday, Woods' agent Mark Steinberg said in a PGA Of America-issued statement that Woods  in the event the week of Aug. 8 if there are "no complications" related to his recent leg injury.

A four-time PGA Championship winner, Woods played in the Masters Tournament but sat out the U.S. Open and British Open due to an injury to his left leg.

Woods formally entered the PGA Championship on July 29. He has been out of golf for nearly three months so that injuries to his leg can properly heal. Before playing in Atlanta, he will make his return at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone.

PGA of America spokesman Julius Mason said that Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told him that as long as everything goes well at Firestone and there are no complications to his left leg that Woods intends to play the PGA Championship.
