It's Fan Appreciation Night at Coolray Field

Thursday, Aug. 30, is the Gwinnett Braves' final home date for 2012.

Attention Duluth G-Braves fans! On Thursday (Aug. 30), the Gwinnett Braves (61-77) will play their final games of the 2012 season at Coolray Field. The double-header (5:50 p.m.) vs. Pawtucket is part of the schedule changes this week as a result of rain from Hurricane Isaac.

Also, there will be several non-baseball highlights, accoring to a G-Braves news release.

  • Chopper, the mascot, will enter the field dressed in a tuxedo and will be carried onto the field like an Egyptian king.
  • The design for all video board features will be “retro.”
  •  The food special will be a foot-long ballpark hot dog, available at Georgia 44 for $4.50, which is $1.50 less than the normal price.
  • There will be an extra T-shirt toss.

Also, the first 2,000 fans entering the gates will receive a special Gwinnett Braves replica jersey. The jersey will feature photos of over 300 fans who have been selected via a Facebook promotion earlier this season. However, the fans will not know if they’ve been selected to be on the jersey until they receive it on Thursday night.
