Gwinnett Braves Lose Third Straight

Durham wins Sunday; Syracuse visits Monday.

The Gwinnett Braves are probably glad to see the Durham Bulls leave town. The Bulls defeated the G-Braves 2-1 Sunday at Coolray Field for their third straight win in the series.

Dan Johnson's home run in the eighth inning was the game winner for Durham, which now leads the G-Braves by two games in the South Division of the International League.

Relief pitcher Jaye Chapman took the loss for Gwinnett. Outfielder Matt Young was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Gwinnett.

Also, the Gwinnett Braves announced that outfielder Nate McLouth has completed his rehab assignment and been recalled by the parent club in Atlanta.

Now the Syracuse Chiefs come to Coolray Field. Monday's game starts at 7:05 p.m.; top pitching prospect Julio Teheran is scheduled to start for Gwinnett.
